1. How does the “Convertible” mode actually save money?

Think of it as a speed limiter. In 40% mode, the AC compressor is forced to run at a very low frequency, regardless of the room temperature. It won’t cool a hot room quickly, but once the room is cool, it will maintain it using very little power—almost like a high-speed ceiling fan.

2. Is Carrier’s “Insta-Cool” mode different from Turbo?

It’s basically Turbo on steroids. It gives you immediate relief by running the compressor and fan at their absolute limit for 45 minutes. It’s the most expensive mode to run. We recommend using it for only 10 minutes to “break the heat” and then switching to 80% or 100% mode.

3. My Carrier AC says “Stabilizer Free.” Do I really need one?
